Whether you're looking for a scenic road ride, a challenging gravel route, or a flowy mountain bike loop, we’re here to help you find the perfect ride.
This is by far our most popular road loop, perfect for cyclists of all levels looking to experience Vermont’s beauty and charm.
Start your ride from our shop, heading east along the Ottauquechee River on Route 4. After warming up on this scenic stretch, take a right onto VT-100A, a gentle climb through picturesque farmland and past President Calvin Coolidge’s historic homestead in Plymouth Notch. Make sure to sample some of our famous Vermont Cheddar at America's second oldest cheesemaker Plymouth Cheese.
From there, enjoy a fun descent down Salt Ash Mountain until you intersect with Route 100. Take a right turn and head north on this rolling section of road, passing tranquil lakes, postcard-worthy views, and even a rope swing if you’re feeling adventurous.
Finish strong with a 1.5-mile downhill coast back to our shop—the perfect way to end a great day on the bike.
Road, Gravel, Fitness, Hybrid, or E-Bike
Looking for a gravel ride that will push your limits and reward you with epic views and exhilarating descents? This is one of our more challenging gravel bike loops, ideal for intermediate to advanced cyclists ready to tackle steep climbs and scenic back roads.
Start your ride from our shop and head east along the Ottauquechee River on Route 4. This scenic warm-up stretch sets the tone for a big day in the saddle.
Turn left onto Center Road, a gently rolling climb through the beautiful Bridgewater Center valley. Next, dig in for a tough ascent up Daily Hollow Road, a true test of your climbing legs.
At the top, intersect with Steven’s Road and take a left onto Little Sherburne Road, followed shortly by another quick left onto Bridgewater Hill Road. Climb to the top, where you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the Green Mountains and Killington Resort.
Brace yourself for a steep, technical descent—this road gets progressively steeper, so brake check frequently and descend with caution. At the bottom, rejoin Route 4 with a right turn, and enjoy a relaxed spin back to the shop to cap off an incredible ride.
Gravel, Fitness, Hybrid, or E-Bike
Start your ride heading south on Route 100 from the shop. You’ll warm up quickly with a 2-mile climb to Woodard Reservoir, a peaceful lake nestled in the hills.
Continue south on Route 100 through scenic, rolling terrain, passing Black Pond and making your way through the historic town of Plymouth. Take a left on Billings Road at The Hawk Inn.
From there, follow Billings Road to Scout Camp Road, where the pavement gives way to beautiful gravel. This stretch winds behind Amherst Lake and Echo Lake, offering quiet, wooded riding with minimal traffic.
Return to pavement on Buswell Road, briefly which becomes East Lake Road. Roll along smooth dirt before you turn right onto Red Bridge Road—be sure to stop and snap a photo of Lake Rescue, one of the most picturesque spots on the route!
You’ll then rejoin Route 100 from here you have the option to head south 0.25 miles to grab a Maple Creemee at Green Mountain Sugarhouse before you head northbound, passing the iconic Echo Lake Inn back towards our shop. Enjoy a well-earned 1.5-mile descent past Woodard Reservoir as you coast back to the shop.
Endurance Road (with wider tires), Gravel, Fitness, Hybrid, or E-Bike
Begin your ride heading east on River Road from the parking lot across from Billings Farm. The route starts with a gentle warm-up as you roll past charming homes, historic farms, and the meandering Ottauquechee River. Continue along River Road, staying right as you pass the iconic Rope Swing, then enjoy a scenic descent toward the picturesque Taftsville Covered Bridge and its nearby waterfall.
Turn left onto Quechee Main Street and prepare for a short but steep climb. Don’t worry—it eases up quickly as you follow the river into the heart of Quechee Village. Here, you’ll find plenty of reasons to pause: visit the renowned Simon Pearce Glassblowing Studio and Restaurant, sample local spirits at the WhistlePig Tasting Room, or admire another classic covered bridge.
When you're ready to continue, turn left onto Old Quechee Road. A steady climb brings you to a sign for Hard Road—turn right here and get ready for a thrilling, luge-style descent back down to Quechee Main Street. At the bottom, turn right and follow Quechee Main Street as it winds back to River Road, completing the loop.
