Our Review of the New Salomon QST 106 Ski: When the Salomon QST Blank came out 2 years ago we were blown away by how well such a wide ski could feel on hard snow at high speeds and we requested a narrower version for your more typical East Coast days. Salomon delivered the QST 98 last season and for this season a completely revamped Salomon QST 106. If you travel a fair amount and are always seeking out the softest of snow this is the ultimate one ski quiver. It floats in pow like a dream, wiggles through trees with ease, and is surprisingly smooth on groomers! The new edge amplifier makes this ski feel even better under foot on hard snow and ice than the previous version. This ski tends to ski a little shorter than it measures, so if you normally ski in the 170cm ranger you might want to consider the 181cm size! -Randy Elles
Salomon's Review of the New Salomon QST 106: The icon of Salomon’s QST line, the QST 106 is a favorite across the world. This year, we revamped the ski's shape, complimenting the classic QST layup that you rely on for power and stability. The result? A ski that does it all with style and finesse - no matter the snow, no matter the terrain. Go ahead, make the mountain your playground.
Agility
The new design is slightly more tapered, with the widest points of the tip and tail closer to center. This allows for quick pivots, playful turn shapes, and agility.
Floatation
The new QST 106 maintains a 106mm underfoot platform that excels when the snow gets deep. Longer rocker in the tip and tail make navigating face shots a breeze.
Power & Stability
A C/FX carbon backbone and double sidewalls create a powerful ski with strong edge hold. Cork inserts in the tip & tail eliminate chatter, offering a smooth, playful ride.
